The IMS Forgings GmbH s has been cooperating since August of 2018 with Gelenklager Lüneburg GmbH in the area of marketing and Business Development for bearing housing units of the brand “EXTREME BEARING“.

EXTREME BEARING units are the cost-effective high-tech final solution for all environments (e.g. in the food processing industry) where aggressive influences (salt, moisture, dirt, chemicals, etc. ) affect the bearing units used and significantly reduce the life time of the bearing units. Previous, non-optimal industrial bearing solutions in aggressive environments (salt water, dirt, chemicals, water):

Use of plastic housings

Plastic enclosures only withstand aggressive environments up to a degree until failure due to swelling, brittleness or fatigue due to high mechanical force and industrial agents, with all negative consequences for production and associated costs.

Use of cast iron casings

Cast iron hosuings withstand higher forces, but start to corrode in aggressive environments and cannot be used in food technology due to hygiene regulations.

The use of stainless-steel bearings (e.g.. SUC 210)

High price, limitation of absorption of forces (softer, stainless steel; high wear) and only protection from the environment only by a simple sealing on the bearing itself. The only advantage: suitable for use in Food in combination with food-grade grease.

Optimal solution with industry-bearing units of the “EXTREME BEARING

EXTREME BEARING units allow the user through a high-End sealing solution, the stainless steel F316 (1.4404) housing in combination with an appropriate choice of the Grease, normal industrial bearings (e.g. 100Cr6) to use EXTREME BEARING in aggressive environments, and saves the use of expensive stainless steel bearing solutions softer, weak plastic housings or corroding cast housings.
