Open die forging belongs to the group of non mechanic metal forming. Open die forging is mainly used for project based parts with a unique drawing. For a serial production open die forging is not economical.

Nowadays mainyl hydraulik presses are used in open die forging shops whith a press force from 900 to. up to 20.000 to depending on the size of parts that should be produced
At which tempratures the ingot will be forged?
Depending on the material the forging takes place between tempratures form 900° Clesius up to 1200° Celsius.
